چکیده

We performed a spectral analysis of the EUVE spectrum and ROSAT data of the unique object H1504+65, which is an extremely hot post-AGB star entering the white dwarf cooling sequence. It is the only pre-white dwarf known, whose surface is free of hydrogen and helium, hence, it represents the bare core of a former AGB star. The EUV spectrum (75–150Å) is dominated by strong O VI lines and we can identify a number of Ne VII lines. EUVE and ROSAT data can be fitted with models between Teff=170 000 K and 200 000 K. We derive an extraordinarily high neon abundance (2%–5% by mass, i.e. 20–50 times solar) which we confirm by an optical Ne VII line detected in a Keck HIRES echelle spectrum. This abundance is expected for 3α processed matter and corroborates our understanding of H1504+65 as a C-O stellar core which has lost its entire Hand He-rich envelopes.

Chandra and FUSE spectroscopy of the hot bare stellar core H 1504 + 65 ⋆

H 1504+65 is an extremely hot hydrogen-deficient white dwarf with an effective temperature close to 200 000 K. We present new FUV and soft X-ray spectra obtained with FUSE and Chandra, which confirm that H 1504+65 has an atmosphere primarily composed of carbon and oxygen. The Chandra LETG spectrum (60 – 160Å) shows a wealth of photospheric absorption lines from highly ionized oxygen, neon, and ...

Line identification in soft X - ray spectra of stellar coronae by comparison with the hottest white dwarf ’ s photosphere : Procyon , α Cen A + B , and H 1504 + 65

H 1504+65 is a young white dwarf with an effective temperature of 200 000 K and is the hottest post-AGB star ever analysed with detailed model atmospheres. Chandra LETG+HRC-S spectra have revealed the richest X-ray absorption line spectrum recorded from a stellar photosphere to date. The line forming regions in this extremely hot photosphere produce many transitions in absorption that are also ...

THE EFFECT OF COSMIONS ON THE STABILITY OF MAIN SEQUENCE STELLAR CORES

We have studied the effect of hypothetical Cosmions on the core stability of main sequence stars (of populations I and II). Cosmions, with a mass of 4-10 Gev/c2 and a scattering cross section with nucleons of approximately 10-36 cm2 could prevail in transporting heat in the stellar cores. Raby [17] showed the existence of a local thermal instability caused by the presence of Cosmions in the sol...

Gradual Growth of Gold Nanoseeds on Silica for Silica@Gold Core-Shell Nanoparticles and Investigation of Optical Properties

Metal nanoshells consists of a dielectric core surrounded by a thin noble metal shell, possess unique optical properties that render nanoshells attractive for use in different technologies. This paper reports a facile method for growth of small gold nanoparticles on the functionalized surface of larger silica nanoparticles. Mono-dispersed silica particles and gold nanoparticles were prepared by...
